Nick: So we've been together for a good two years. Wrote more than 15 songs, took part in countless "battle of the bands", played rock the world, rocked other states in the country, rocked Singapore AND opened for Incubus. What's next? I think it's safe to say that a Rosevelt debut album is overdue. Just like our blog posts. :D

Im trying a new way to get the others to blog more. Make this website more gempak. Although we have a facebook page but, i would really like to make this an online hang out area for us and our fans. We'll see if it works. It is all going to be conversation based. Meaning, the title is the topic and the post that you are reading now is an on going discussion, which means that it will be updated till we saturate the discussion. For those who is reading this now, remember to comment. Why? Cuz you can. ;)

So... What is the album about. I'm pretty sure we have different answers to that. To me, the album is like a bottle where you put it in all your past experiences into a compact space. Once in a while, you pop the cap open to relive those moments. Whether it is good or bad. And hopefully our listeners can connect to these moments...

30 Seconds To Mars in KL

Our band and our music is a product of various musical influences merged into one. In other words, these influences make up the Rosevelt sound. One very prominent influence in our music making comes from 30 Seconds To Mars. We're all fans of them with the exception of Nick. Oh no, don't get me wrong. Nick goes beyond just being a fan, he is crazy about them. We've heard him say a few times that he'd like to have a go with Jared Leto. Uhuh...to that extent.

I personally loved their first 2 albums however the 3rd doesn't really sit well with me with the exception of a few songs. I guess the first person in the band to embrace the bands new sound was Nick which was great considering how much of that influence Nick has used in taking his vocals, melodies and even compositions to a whole new level. Even some of our songs spot influences from Jared Leto and the gang.

So when we heard of the upcoming MTV World Stage, the whole band was overjoyed. What made us even happier was the fact that our albums engineer, JD, will be representing our country with his band Pop Shuvit at the same outing. (Dibs on teching for you JD). Someday we would like to have the opportunity of playing at the MTV World Stage.

If you have no idea what the details are for this years World Stage (well not much has been released yet anyways), here are some you can note down.

Incubus Returns to Malaysia

So if you know the band well enough, you will know how crazy we are about Incubus. Well, this 23rd July, they will be returning to Malaysia, playing at Stadium Negara.

Basically this post is to say how massively excited we are about this and how much it would mean if you guys could join us in praying for us to be the opening act! hahaha....

But seriously, if you do not know them for some weird reason, check them out NOW!

Long Overdue

Our lack of posts may make us seem like a real lazy bunch. Well from the bottom of our lungs, we are SORRY!
Don't be mistaken, the lack of posts do not, in any way resemble our progress since the last post in November. In fact, things have been going so FAWESOME, that we've hardly had any time at all to update the site aside from our regular posts on our FACEBOOK and TWITTER page.

So much has happened since the Laundry Fest and we have none other than GOD, our families, our friends, fellow musicians and most importantly you guys to thank. We are a month away from our 2 year anniversary and believe me, it's not easy being a band for a long time. If not for the support shown by everyone, we would never be here today.

So what are the major happenings since then? I'm not gonna bother you guys with too many words coz ultimately we want your attention and too many words can disrupt that. So here's a breakdown of all the kickass things that have been happening to the band.

1. Played our second Rock The World last December - Amazing support and response from crowd.

2. We finally played out of Malaysia for the first time at the "Esplanade Presents KL Calling" show in Esplanade, Singapore - Best sound ever!

3. We got to Number 1 on Hitz FM's MET 10 Chart!!!! - For 2 weeks in a row! (BIG SHOUTOUT TO MOOTS of POPSHUVIT!)

4. First show on the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia (Kelantan) - Contrary to most negative perceptions about this state, it stands as our best show yet. - Props to Joe of GEGEY MUSIC for organizing this show and giving us the chance to play.

5. We played the Asian Music Festival at the Mines Convention Centre which featured 25 artist from 7 nations. These artists include, Edison Chen, 24 Herbs, Paul Wong of Beyond, Manhand, Daydream, Suki, Namcha and more!

Highlight of this event: 24 HERBS came up to us and said they liked our stuff and they want a copy of our album. - We went hysterical coz we are huge fans of them. Check them out!

6. We are currently number 4 on the TRAXX FM Upstage Chart! Thanks to Traxx FM for givng us the opportunity to perform at their 3rd installment of Traxx FM Upstage Goes Live.

7. Last but not least, we have started work on the album. We are recording at Studio 21:05 with JD of POPSHUVIT! About 4 songs have been completed and its just a matter of time before the rest is completed. You can expect a release sometime towards end of July or early August with a super cool launch party (fingers crossed) to follow some time in September.

Lookout for a couple of singles that we're gonna release soon including a song featuring a friend of ours from the UK. (no, not Ulu Kelang)

We will try our best to update the site as often as we can. So bear with us. Hope this post has been insightful. See you at the next show!

Laundry Fest

The set started a lil bit dry. But towards the end we manage to get people to come up front to rock with us. 12 people, and they rocked hard. Sound was good.

There were only two things stopping people from coming closer to the stage.

1. They really want to but they are shy because of next point-
2. The pit was empty because Laundry charged RM20 entrance fee.

To our friends who came that night, we would like to apologize for this because the bands weren't informed about it nor was it printed on the poster.

We're Still Here...

When we started the band, everything we did was new and exciting. We spend most of our days wondering how we "get here". Not that "here" such a big deal. Honestly, I joined the band without any expectations - at all. I didn't know how far we were gonna go. I still don't know. But for a band that's only been together for 1 year, there are some things we got to give ourselves credits for.

We were i would say, "up and coming". New to people's ears. Gigs were coming. One after another. The new kid in the block. We started to have fans who joined our Facebook page. The numbers were growing day by day. I remember how excited we all were when the number of fans on our facebook page reached up to a 1000.

Now we're "up and came". The hardest part about being in a band is holding it all together. Its easy to start but difficult to maintain. Because slowly, you'll feel as if everything slows down. Then maybe some internal problems. I mean what do you expect right when you put a bunch of people together. Sometimes these problems gets so bad and irritating that you just want to remove them. or remove yourself. And the next best thing to do is give up? No.

We're still here. Although some might say the fun and games is over. But behind all the silence, we're still having fun, making music every week, goofing around and making more music. Keeping your dream alive is not an easy thing.
Rosevelt's my dream. As long as Im here, so is the band. Yes we're still alive for those who thought that we've already disbanded.

So keep rocking on. Keep coming for our gigs. We want to see you. We still remember you.

Yeap we're at again this week. This time playing at 2 colleges in one weekend.

A week after URBANSCAPES, and we're going to be rocking AID JAM at Sunway College.

We're going to be there with The ScrewPeas, Blister, Melodica, R8, Ask Me Again and Roket. Burning up the dance floor later at night will be DJ Fuzz and SYKO G. According to sources, Juliana Evans and Ben Ng will be making an appearence as well.

The band's been looking forward to rock Urbanscapes all week.

I personally was looking forward to finish work yesterday so i could take off those boring work shirt, tie and leather shoes i was wearing and put my tshirt, skinnies and Macbeths back on. At one o'clock sharp i punched out, got out, got into my car and didnt stop driving till i reached KLPAC.

I had a feeling that it was going to be an awesome show. It was.

To the crowd that was at Urbanscapes, Pentas 2 KLPac at 6pm when we played. You guys were amazing. You all rocked the pit. Thanks for buying our CDs and stickers! Soon we're gonna be making tshirts and maybe caps. (so keep a good look out fer that) and of course a full album.

Lazy lazy lazy!

That's what we've become.We apologize for the delay in posts and updates.

So like what the title says, yes! we got into Urbanscapes 2010!!!
Thank you to all of you who voted for us.We are so excited.When we started out as a band 11 months ago, our main goal for this year was to get Urbanscapes 2010 and with your help we achieved it.

At the beginning of this year we had a number of good shows and towards the 3rd month onwards the band was feeling a little restless and discouraged.We had so few shows and no income...lol.But towards the end of April things started to get better.We have been having shows every single week.

We had an awesome show last Thursday at Laundry thanks to MONSOON RECORDS!
Pictures and videos of the performance will be up very soon!WE PROMISE!

Oh and the Cravecharts Vol.1 gig was off the hook! All the bands kicked ass and we have all the live recordings.They are awesome.

So we had some major gigs recently.All went well.Had tonnes of fun in Penang apart from a few setbacks that we would like to forget about.Then we had an awesome time playing for Nottingham Uni's Battle of the Bands as guests.Then we had the Guinness St.Patricks day gig at One Utama.That was our first ever high paying, high profile gig.We had a great time playing, eating and drinking!hehehe....

Following that we were one of the featured bands for the Sunway College Charity gig alongside Car Crash Hearts, An Honest Mistake and more.Sound was a lil bit bad but nonetheless we had fun.It was Nicks homecoming gig with him being an ex student and all.

So since these shows we've been quite free.Planning a lot of stuff for the band and working on new tunes.Lookout for our stickers and free singles very soon.A reason for you to be at our gigs!

Studio C live, Kuantan.

I know. We gota start updatinig more on this site, and take more pictures. Worry no more, i just got a 2 hand digital camera which can record video AND take pictures. Our website will be more interesting from now on.

Okay lets talk a little about what happened in Kuantan. I reached at the time Pesawat was soundchecking. The fellas were already there a couple of hours earlier. We went on after that. The sound was amazing. Everything was there and we could hear ourself amazingly well.

Our set was at 9pm. We opened for the event. Awesome crowd. I just love it you know, when the crowd starts to get a little bit angry. In a rock way kinda angry. If you know what im saying. Shows they layan the music and they're having fun. In returned they gave us back good energy. Throughout the 5 song set, we moved, we moshed and we screamed.

It was our first outstation show.

Next up! This saturday, 6th Febuary at One U. It a "CROCS" event. We'll be on stage round noon time. Car Crash Hearts will also be there with us. Promise to be a good rocking Saturday afternoon.

The Library, the Moshpit, RM2000 and more!

Last night our journey in Library's Got Talent or Not ended!
We came in 3rd overall and bagged ourselves a sweet RM2000.
Well it ain't close to the grand prize of 30k but the exposure and other things we got out of it was definitely worth more than 30k any day.
Congratulations to ECX on grabbing the 30k.You guys deserve it more than anybody and to Decimal and Johan dan Rakan-rakan as well as all the performers, we are honored to have shared the stage with you guys!!!

We made new friends, new fans, we became better performers, we got more invitations to perform and most of all we became tighter as a band and as friends.
We had a good time last night.We managed to do a short collabo with Shazet the magnifique beatboxer from Johan dan Rakan-rakan and also invite all our friends to mosh with us in the middle of the song.

Now the band is ready to push further.We are ready to take it to the next level.
While it was a good run, I think that is it for competitions for the time being.
Now it is time to concentrate on releasing our first single and eventually we hope to release our EP by March!!!

Recording starts this week on 'MADICINE'!Hopefully we can release it by February.
We hit the studios in the next few days to lay the drums and bass tracks and then next week the guitars and vocals and then Kush and Bryan has exams to concentrate on.

All in all it was a great 2nd half for 2009 and so far 2010 has been FREAKING awesome!
An awesome start to the year.

So here's to an off the hook year!We love you all and we hope to share the journey and the spoils with all of you!

First Show of The Year/Lullaby

A week ago, i came down with a flu and the next day it turned into cough, and the day after day, it became more of a chesty cough. I suspect its something like bronchitis. But i didnt really know cuz i was fighting the sickness with the meds i have at home. But two days before our first show of the year, my cough was getting worse. And i knew i HAD to get better.

So i went to the doctor, told him my problems, it was obvious he didnt really listen. As usual, he prescribed me with some antibiotics, flu meds and cough syrup and sent me home. As soon as i got back i attacked the meds and slept for 20 hours and only wake up to eat and drink.

On the day of the performance i got a little better, but didnt think i could have done the show. During soundcheck i wasnt confident at all.

Thanks to Stereopath's Chris for his Asam Jawa advice. I took 3 bottles of that.

And thanks to God's miracles. The show wasnt as bad as i would have expected it to be.

Rock The World 9

I never thought we'll be playing Rock The World in just 7 months of being together. But we did. Although not the biggest stage of the event, we were still feeling quite blessed. Thanks to all our friends that came and stood watching us while we "rock the world" for the first time.

Thanks to:

David and Hamka (from Disagree/FatBoys) for the opportunity.

The "Kurosaki" Girls who was there soaking wet but still stood right infront singing to our songs.

Sheila. Who's always true and honest with band. Helping us our when we were "clouded" with things.

Other bands for their help, Car Crash Hearts and An Honest Mistake.

Josh's friend Sanjay was also there, although he only came alone.

Basically, all our friends that came and support us. We really appreciate it.

Library Got Talent

After so many Sundays, the competition has ended for us. Although we got thru to the semi finals, but we didnt get into the finals and stand a chance to win 30k. But like i told everyone that night before we started our second song. "You might not see us here the next round, but i promise you this, this wont be the last that you will be seeing us around."

So no 30k, but there will be a last round for us to battle it out for 3rd and 4th place. One song only. I know we're going to bring the house down.

but, let me take this opportunity to thank all who have been there with us every week, voting, screaming and supporting us. You all make us feel like rock stars. Here' where i blurt out names to thank, but any names missed out is not intentional.

Melaka road trip and everything else!

So on Saturday the band took a drive to Melaka to audition for Rock The World 09!
Unfortunately we didn't get in but we congratulate all the other awesome acts that tried out especially Khottal who got in.

Well that did not dampen our spirits.We were still very happy because it was an awesome road trip and because we got a huge load of exposure.The organizers were very happy with us.
For now we can only hope we get a place in the 4 wild cards if not there's always next year.

So with that behind us, we are going to be done with pre-production of our first single 'MADICINE' and then we start recording!!!!

Pre-pro Starts!

Tomorrow we start pre-production on our first ever proper single that we are going to release to the radio stations.

We are planning to record our song 'Madicine'.We are really really excited and we cannot wait to get to work on the single.It will be produced by Sim Keng Lee(Seven Collar T-Shirt) and Jeffrey Kumar(Army of Three).

We Are Humbled...

A thousand apologies for the delay in updating the blog.We have been so busy and so much has been happening.So much good news.

As you guys know we have been having a few shows lately.The more notable ones would be Syiok Shock Night at Mardi Gras, One Utama last Thursday and The Library's Got Talent at The Library, e@Curve on Sunday.

Before I start let me say before last Thursday we have always been nervous and jittery during performances but after the crowds response last Thursday at Mardi Gras, we were transformed.For the first time ever we had people mosh with us at one of our gigs!!!
We played second out of 8 bands and it was an awesome experience.Throughout all 3 songs we had the best crowd and the best response ever.That night we really felt like rockstars.

Then Sunday came.8 acts and it was a very intense night.Almost all the participants gave a good show and the judges were all very happy.The judges were Amin(not sure from where), Jules(Fly FM), Rithen(DejaVoodooSpells) and Russell Curtis(a legendary blues guitarists from the Russell Curtis Blues Project).

We played second last.We performed our song 'MADICINE'.The night before we made some arrangement changes to get the crowd to interact so we were very nervous that we wouldn't be getting the response we needed.So in a way it was a big gamble.

Ok, before I continue I have to say that our friends and fans that came were the AWESOMEST,MOST SUPERB,MOST WONDERFUL,MOST FANTABULOUS people in the whole wide world!!!!!!!Your support and screams and shouts made it so much better and easier for us.You guys are the ones that got us through!

Alright now back to the story.So we performed.To our amazement the crowds interaction was superb.Not only from our fans and friends but also from the other people that were there.So we played and then judgement time came.

The first judge(Amin) said this, " With the right marketing and support, you guys can go really far!"

The second judge(Jules-who was also very participative) said this, "You guys have the potential to make it far in the industry.You took a risk trying to work the crowd and you did it!"

The third judge(Rithen) said this, "Great crowd control from the Vocalist and I like a loud drummer."

The fourth judge(Russell Curtis) said this, "E.G. (competitor), you now have competition.I am going to book you guys for a few shows next month."

4 very positive comments.Nothing we expected.We are definitely very humbled by it.

It doesn't stop there.Jules met us and asked us to quickly record a single so she can push it on radio and the Fly FM campur chart!Woohoo!!!Thank you Jules.

Ok so in about 2 weeks we will be playing in our heat of the Library's Got Talent!
Our sources say that not only the judges give us marks but our fans and friends and family can too.

Hello!!

I know it has been awhile since our last post.Just that there hasn't been much going on.
Gigs are coming very slowly on top of that.

Just some updates though.We have written a few more new songs.Very nice and different.
To check them out come on down to Urbanattic on the 31st of this month for the Halloween Party.It is going to be awesome.

We have acts like Rashdan Harith, An Honest Mistake, Jin Hackman, Car Crash Hearts and many more playing alongside us.

Also we have a fully mastered version of the recording we did at Lim Kok Wing.It will be up soon.Please bear with us.We have all been busy.

Ok so we mentioned we'll be taking a one month break to fine tune our stuff so we can give you guys a better show.Well that one month is up and we are all ready as hell to start rocking again.
Not only did we fine tune some of our tunes but we wrote 2 new numbers, very different from the others and we are loving it.

We are really itching to gig.It has been to long.We will be discussing with Uzair (Mr.Manager) on our directions and what we would like to achieve in the next few months.If you think we are worthy enough to perform please don hesitate to get in touch with us.We would love to play for you or anyone you know.

In Hollywood, if you're a vocalist in a band, thats all you do. You make music. You play gigs. Three to four gigs a day and in different states. And when you're not playing gigs, you go for interviews and press releases. If that day itself, you really got nothing else to do, you'll go down Miceli's with a table booked under your name by your manager. Kung Pao Kitty if you like chinese. While you're at it, you could even pick up a few new endorsements from Vans or Macbeth.

In Malaysia, if you're a vocalist in a band, thats not all you do. Well at least not all of us. We make music at night. We play gigs, sometimes. And your gigs are within the Selangor borders. When there is no gigs, you'll blog, you'll fool around with our facebook page, celebrate in the increasing number of fans you have and waiting for the next gig to come. Not to forget, in the daytime you have your day job. Usually a 9 to 5 or a 10 to 7 five days a week kind of thing. Despite everything else, although you cant afford expensive restaurant to hang out at, buying your own Vans and Macbeth, as soon as work is done and night time hits, you'll be jamming with the guys. Making more music. We dont have Miceli's here. But if we really got nothing to do, we head to the nearest mamak or Jalan Alor's Anne's Kitchen for some thai food.

Because we're in Malaysia, and this is our lifestyle.
No one's complaining.
I gota beat the jam, got a bunch of 3 to 10 year olds to teach.

Ok I honestly don't know where the rest of the boys are.The blog is so dead.No new posts.
I suppose it's because nothing much has been happening with the band.

We are kind of taking the month off to work on our songs but are still open to gigs and performances cause we are BORED!

The songs are looking good.Some changes here and there.We are getting tighter, more creative and improving at the same time.Also we will be helping a friend with their assignment.So we will be recording a song and doing a recorded radio interview with them.More details on that soon.

well...all i want to say here is that we, the band, is gonna miss him so much...it feels like a big part of us is missing and gone, and yes I am referring to a HIM. I can still remember all those times we jammed together, all those dumbass moments, all those laughing and drinking sessions. Pointing To The Sky

Sometimes when you want it, and you see it happening, it happens. Its that easy. This is us. Now.

A few months back i wrote the 10 things to do list before next year. One of them was to be in a band. A few weeks later, i met these guys. A few weeks later, we got enough original songs to play for a 15 min college gig. Few weeks later, we have enough to play a 30 min set for an outdoor festival. A few days later, i felt the urge to blog (which i hardly do other than posting up lyrics) and to improve our blog look. What you think?

These are pictures taken by Ferhan during the IndieYouthFest at One Utama. Bands who shared the stage with us were Car Crash Hearts, Oh Chentaku and Beat The System. There were also some solo acoustic performers which brings back memories. Days when it was just me and my 400 bucks guitar named Amy.

We're Still Here...

Okay, okay....I know the blog has been quite dead the past week and the only thing on our Facebook page are videos of every other stop motion video clip that can be found.

Well basically we have all been pretty busy with our own things.I have been sick, Bryan's been bogged down with ASS-ignments, Nick's been busy with his musical rehearsals and as for Kush, well... he's not really the blogger type.

So just a few updates...

I'm sure all of you know how much we wanted to jam last week....right?
So yea finally jamming day came...We were so excited!!
BUT......jamming went south.We were all lost.So out of our element.
I guess it is safe to say that it wasn't our top 5 best sessions.

So that nightmare passed.Then on Saturday, Nick smsed us, THANI! at my place tonight!

My insides went like WOOHOO!!!So yea we met at his awesome pad at around 12.30 a.m.
There were 7 of us(including Vera,Sheila and Samuel), 1 Malibu bottle, a quarter bottle of Absinth, a few cans of beer, Bryan and I had our Konig Ludwigs, and we had some other snacks along with some other treats...hehehe....

So we drank and chatted, watched some really awesome indie movies(trust me...AWESOME!!!)Lols....

Then we decided to play some drinking games...oh man....such a waste.No camera again!!!!
You guys should have seen Nicks mole infested face and Vera's Doraemon Moustache.FUNNY!!

Anyways...after the drinks had finish, we left...and yea I'm here right now writing bout it.A pretty eventful weekend I must say.

Pork Devouring Session

Recently the band made some time to devour some pork in the form of Bak Kut Teh.
We had the pleasure of Vincent and Samuel's company as well.

So yea...we basically had pork.NO! we did not eat Bryan....but we ate his siblings.wakakaka!!

After the Shoot!

Okay so while Bryan is busy writing bout our shoot, I thought I'd just write a bit bout our jamming session after the shoot.

I trust Bryan will give you all the details even up to what we did before jamming, which was hang at Nicks' AWESOME pad so I shall just go straight to jamming.

First of all we were all SUPER TIRED! For me, all I could think of when driving was I wanna get to the studio A.S.A.P get it done and go home and I'm pretty sure Nick and Bryan felt the same way.

So we reached the studio and chilled for a lil bit cause Estranged had not finish jamming.We wanna be like these guys one day man.Today they're all on the way to Taiwan for a rock festival there.They are gonna be playing alongside bands from all corners of the world including U.S., Japan, Korea and loads more.ALL THE BEST DUDES!

Eventually Estranged were done and we chatted with them for awhile before we went in to set up and start jamming.Oh and did I mention?Estranged's drummer recognized Nick from one of his indie films.Nick didn't wanna admit but he was definitely BLUSHING!hehehehe....

Ok so since the whole day we were playing our song 'Brother John' for the shoot we told ourselves no more, at least not for this jamming session and ultimately we did not jam any of our 3 songs instead we did 2 new songs and believe me, it was an amazingly super duper productive hour and a half.We actually completed these 2 songs within that time period.Aren't we something?hehehe....

The 2 new numbers are very different from what we have so far.One's a slow number with fantastic energy and fill to it.The superb bass line by Mr.Afro a.k.a Kush, complimented by the smooth yet prominent beats from BOTAK and Nicks energetic vocals were all the right ingredients to creating this awesome track.The other one is our first ever DANCE! number.Filled with some cool guitar effects, funky bass lines, and far out drum beats, this song is sure to get your hips shakin' and your arms up in the air!

We haven't really decided on the titles yet, well more like Nick hasn't but as soon as he does you guys will know.

Well as you can see jamming turned out to be pretty darn exciting.All the thoughts of goin' back to sleep quickly changed to thoughts of I wanna jam longer!!! but yea, we were all very tired plus Sheila was with us.

I know Bryan, Nick and Kush went for Nasi Lemak(tired it seems)...but I had to send Sheila back coz it was too late!

Oh and before I forget, The Snow Symphony(Nick's Singer/Songwriter thingy) will be performing for RTM's Raya Special alongside Hujan, Bunkface, Dejavoodoospells etc.So if you can go catch them this weekend.Show them some LOVE!

Oh and one of us will be in Langkawi this weekend.GET wasted bro!!!Haha...just have fun and make sure you come back in one piece!

The Cycle Of Love : Amps, Candy, A Girl in a very Short Skirt, Laughin,Waiting and what nots.

Yeosh!!!

The movie we had a shooting for is titled 'The Cycle Of Love'. Its a Chinese movie, and the story line is still unclear to us although we know there will be tonnes of chinese people featured in it.Yeah i know, its obvious right? and there will be love scenes, heartbreak scenes and all other elements of a chinese movie to make a chinese movie, and not forgetting the most important ingredient which is a lot of chinese guys with Jay Chou looking spiked up hair and sideburns the likes of a girl.LOLs. honestly, I felt really left out.

We were invited for this shoot by a chinese singer named Candy who saw our performance at TARC's Talent Time Night and was impressed. So we arrived at Summit USJ's Starbucks at around 12pm, chilled for awhile and made our way up to the auditorium on the 4th floor but we got lost for awhile.We saw a dodgy spa named 'Topaz Spa'. The kind where you see old uncles go to get some happy times for their 'seasoned' lil johns.

The pictures are not so clear, but if you strain your eyes a lil' you can see that there is only 1 section in the auditorium filled with people and that is going to be the 'crowd' for the band competition shoot that we're being featured in.

Josh: Shit!!
The Rest: why lah?
Josh: there is no amps lah.

After a lil discussion with the organizers they told us they will settle it, BUT!! they need us to pick it up from their office.Fine, we picked it up, got back at around 2pm and the best part of the day begun.

2-3pm: Wait..
3-4pm: Wait...
4-5pm: Wait....
5-6pm: Instead of being featured as a band,they told us to stand in as the crowd in the meantime.FINE.we were bored.so we took our groupie roles and shouted for some chinese boy band we have never heard of but we still waited most of the time.
6-7pm: They were still shooting the same scene over and over again.
7-8pm: We sneaked out and went for a bite. Probably the best hour we had in Summit.
8-9pm: WAIT.....
9-10pm: more WAITING....

In between all this waiting, Josh got so bored he started singing along to chinese songs,eventually he change the lyrics to tamil lyrics. Imagine listening to a S.H.E song with 'Aney!!Teyo AIS onek!SapPedeeeeee,KanekEEEE!!'.Nick on the other hand found the ultimate Jengster who was sitting next to him who was also bored.So he told Nick a joke which went like 'what the defelent between likening(lightning) and electricity?HUH??you duun know ah??electricity have to pay likening dun need mah!!wakakaka SO FUNNY OMG LMAO!!! poor Nick.

In between all this, we had a girl with an extremely short skirt who knows Bryan from TARC join in on our conversation. Her name is Evelyn. The reason why we remember Evelyn so well is because she asked a very very good question
'Nick ah,why you always wear snow cap ah?You look like a CANCER PATIENT la'
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that she's mentioned it...hmmm...Nick,she's kinda right.What do you guys think?VOTE!!
LOLS.

Anyways, back to the topic, only at around 1030pm did we started shooting our scene. The song we played was song number 3 which is titled 'Brother John'. They took 3 different shots of us so we had to play the song for 3 times. After the shoot, when we got down the stage, a bunch of girls from the 'crowd' came over to Nick to ask him for our details and our web address.Woohoo!!

So after a hard days work of WAITING,even though we were very agitated and frustrated, it all turned out well and we were very very happy that people DO enjoy our music.
Erm...Probably Kushal is not,LOLs. In this picture you can clearly see how spaced out he is.

So, keep a look out for the movie which is titled 'The Cycle Of Love' which will be premiering sometime the end of August or September. And with that we would like to remind you that you have to pay for electricity and not for lightning.OK??!!

Taking Off!

Hey guys,

As you can see in the previous post Nick has said it the best way anyone of us can, we rocked TT Night!We rocked the 2000!!!people that were there yo!

The crowd was even more rocking with their support!Thanks guys!

Ever since then Flight Rosevelt heading for Rock greatness has finally took off.
First we got an invitation to be featured in a local Indie film.The shoot is happening tomorrow
and we will definitely take some pictures for you guys to see how it went down.

Secondly we got an invitation to play at Urbanattic in Capsquare alongside some other bands.
Looks like the word has spread around real fast.

The band is extremely happy with how things have turned out to be so far and how everything is going.We are happy with the support from you guys.

Keep a lookout cause we might be performing at an open mic thing in Cloth and Cleft at Changkat Raja Chulan on the 30th of July.We'll update you on that surely.

Lastly, we are aware that we told you guys we will be having a special debut of Rosevelt but all this other good things have been coming our way so it has somehow killed that hype but rest assured we will be premiering properly and trust me the set then will be a lot better and different.

So the band wishes to say a very big Thank you to you guys who've been supporting us all this while.You guys are priceless!!!

Good News and Bad News!

Hi Guys,

I promised you some updates from our last jamming session but since then I have been quite tied up so I couldn't really post anything up.Thankfully Nick was kind enough to post the full lyrics to our first single 'ENEMY' and the chorus for our 2nd single yet to be titled.

So if you are interested to know what are the songs talking about feel free to drop us a comment here or on facebook and Nick will personally give you his take on it unless he blogs about it here first.

Anyways back to the jamming session.GOOD NEWS!
It was a pretty damn AWESOME session we had last Friday.
We have now completed the music for 3 songs and we're already working on our latest one which is also our first slow number.

We hit the studio again this Saturday to work on these songs and we promise to not let you down with the new one.It's gonna be an awesome slow song!

We all left very happy after the last session and have been looking forward to the next session ever since.
We will continually update you on our progress.Please do stay tuned!

And for the BAD news which also has a little bit of good in it...

I'm sure you guys still remember us saying we want to premier ROSEVELT only in August, but just yesterday Botak mentioned we have been given a slot at TAR College's Talent Time Night to perform as guests.Its not a long set and we'll only be playing 3 songs.

Unfortunately although this is our first ever performance since ROSEVELT started we are unable to invite you guys for it.This is because it is an internal event for the TARCIANS.

Welcome to the official blog of ROSEVELT!
That's Rosevelt with 'ONE' O not 2.

Anyways, for those of you following this blog, you are now embarking on this journey with us from the very start in our pursuit to be full fledged ROCKSTARS!

So a brief introduction about us.

We are a rock band.Not limited by the confines of what kind of rock band but we play rock.
Any type of rock we feel like playing we will play as long as it makes us happy.

We are a 4 piece band comprising of:

Vocalist - Nick Davis

Guitarist - Joshua Desmond

Bassist - Kushal a.k.a Mr Afro

Drummer - Bryan Chin a.k.a Botak!

At this point in time the band is ecstatic as we have finally found a vocalist that did not only blow us away with his vocal abilities but also with his wonderful personality and persona.

Nick Davis is his name.A local singer/songwriter,actor and dj and now a rock band frontman!

Before the arrival of Nick, for a couple of years the three of us have been band mates jamming and coming up with new stuff regularly but aimlessly.Somehow there was something missing.
We jammed, wrote good music, gelled really well but we did not have a vocalist which is like Milo Ais without Ice.

So in our goal to make this band happen and go somewhere with it we looked around real hard for a vocalist.Unfortunately, in this country where good vocalists are hard to find, our search was very often or most of the time in vain.

Not until a month ago, when we saw Nick perform his set with the Snow Symphony (www.myspace.com/snowsymphony) in Bentley Music's auditorium that our search had finally ended.The show was awesome and believe me we were impressed.

So we being the shameless people we are, well Danush to be more exact(he is a different story altogether) approached Nick and asked if he was interested to front our band which was nameless at that time.To our surprise Nick agreed to join us for a jamming session which took place bout 2 weeks ago and well basically the band would agree,

He Came, He Saw and He OWNED!

Now with Nick joining us, we have started work on our first single which Nick has titled 'ENEMY'. It is going well,very well indeed.

We are going in to the studio again soon to work on a couple more tracks and hopefully a full set so we can perform to you guys.

We are aiming to 'world premier' ROSEVELT sometime in August.So keep your eyes tuned in to this blog cause there'll be more updates coming up soon.Look out for our Myspace Link which should be up in the next post alongside some pictures of the band members and also the lyrics of ENEMY and maybe Nicks' personal take on the song.

Oh and I forgot to mention, the Fantabulous logo of the band you see at the top of the page was designed by our very talented Nick Davis. The band loves it and we hope you do.
